"Patchwork Heart" is the visual story of a survivor of childhood trauma and abuse, who has overcome tremendous adversity, through healing and community. It is the story of the artist, MAYA David Garcia, and their personal transition from surviving abuse to thriving, regaining a sense of identity in the process. Like the chrysalis that turns into a butterfly, despite seemingly insurmountable odds, MAYA persisted, sewing together their own wings, ‘like pieces of a patchwork quilt (or heart, in this case) back together, creating something beautiful out of chaos and disjointed memories

Performed and displayed “Side Effects,” part one of the “Death of Decency” series, an interactive art show, for a guest list of 1,600 people.
“Side Effects” is part one, dealing with greed, power and control of the pharmaceutical industry on our daily lives, through absurd advertising, Dark money and endless symptom/disease treatment. It is a narrative, with three characters, kindness, decency and vainglory.
